Selecting the Right Ecall in the Lucky Duck 2.0 Lineup

Apr 13, 2026

Purchasing an ecall is usually a significant investment of your hard-earned money, so understanding the options and features across different models is key to choosing the right unit for the job. During the buying process, there are a handful of important questions you should ask yourself when deciding which Lucky Duck 2.0 e-caller best fits your needs.

First: How much volume do I want or need?
Volume can make or break a stand in many situations. Simply put, if coyotes can’t hear your call, they won’t respond. There’s nothing worse than needing more volume and not having a unit capable of producing it. The Rebel 2.0 features a 25W speaker and 15W amp, while the Riot 2.0 offers a 25W speaker paired with a 25W amp. The Roughneck 2.0, Revolt 2.0, and Super Revolt 2.0 all step up to a 50W speaker with a 30W amp, delivering maximum sound output for any situation.

Second: How many sounds do I want on my e-caller?
Rick “The Verminator” Paillet’s sound library—found exclusively on Lucky Duck e-callers—has been a major selling point from day one. The wide range of coyote sounds, including pup distress, fights, breeding sounds, and howls are second to none and additional sounds found on each ecall like the huge variety of prey distress sounds are equally as good. Each 2.0 model comes preloaded with sounds from 20+ categories, but the total number varies per unit. The Rebel 2.0 includes 50 sounds, the Riot 2.0 comes with 150, the Roughneck and Revolt 2.0 models feature 200, and the Super Revolt 2.0 tops the lineup with 300 sounds. Ultimately, it comes down to how much variety you want at your fingertips.

Third: Do I hunt during the day only, or at night as well?
With the rise in thermal hunting, many hunters need an e-caller that’s easy to operate in the dark. Features like backlit buttons, adjustable screen brightness, and night mode settings become extremely important. The LDX, LD2X, LD2XR, and LD3XR remotes all include backlit buttons. However, only the LD2X, LD2XR, and LD3XR remotes allow you to switch between day, dawn/dusk, and night modes, as well as adjust screen brightness for optimal visibility.

Fourth: Do I want or need extra features?
Some models offer additional features that can increase opportunity, increase user satisfaction and/or increase durability. Options like a built-in decoy, 360-degree call rotation (a true game-changer), larger remote screens with improved visibility, dual-sound capability, and rubber overmold protection are all available across the 2.0 lineup. The Rebel, Riot, Revolt, and Super Revolt all include built-in decoys. The Revolt and Super Revolt are the only e-callers on the market that can rotate 360 degrees at the push of a button. The LD3XR remote features the largest screen & text, while the Super Revolt is the only model capable of playing two sounds simultaneously. For durability, both the Roughneck and Super Revolt include a rubber overmold design.

Finally: How much do I want to spend?
This is often the most important question, as every hunter has a different budget and level of use in mind. Consider how often you’ll use your e-caller, whether you plan to upgrade in the future, and if you can afford to buy your ideal unit right away. As with most gear, increased price typically brings better performance and more features. Higher-end models in the 2.0 lineup offer greater speaker output, more sounds, enhanced remote capabilities, and added features like call rotation & playing 2 sounds at once. MSRP for the Rebel 2.0 (available Fall ’26) is $199, the Riot 2.0 is $349, the Roughneck 2.0 is $499, the Revolt 2.0 is $599, and the Super Revolt 2.0 is $799.

The Lucky Duck 2.0 lineup offers options to fit nearly any budget while meeting the demands of predator hunters at every level. No matter which model you choose, all 2.0 e-callers come backed by a 5-year warranty for added peace of mind.
